Paul Cole

Trombone

My introduction to learning music was learning trombone around the age of 12. In high school, I learned string bass and played with the school jazz band. At 16, I attended two of the Stan Kenton summer clinics (under the direction of Herb Pomeroy and Donald byrd). At 18, I was playing professionally 6 days a week. I studied music at Akron University. During college I played mostly rock 'n roll with local groups to include playing with a lead-in band for headliner Joe Walsh's "The James Gang". I also played on the road for the TV special "Hullabaloo" circuit for many years.

Then I took a 22 year hiatus from music during the years of marriage and raising my two daughters.

After dusting off my horn... I joined the "New Legacy Swing Band" in 1997, the "Compaqbigband.com" in 1999, "The Spectras" in 2002-2010, and "The Capt. Wolf Band" in 2012.

Goals:
To make the "New Legacy Swing Band" swing the way it's supposed to be done, maybe make a CD, and, most importantly, have fun doing it all!
